Hewings is the General Manager of The Montreal Stars, with the Canadian Women’s Hockey League, and founder of the Lovely Hockey league for adult beginners. A McGill grad, She played varsity hockey for the McGill Martlets (#13), and one season in the women’s semi-pro circuit with the Montreal Wingstar.

As a news editor at alt-weekly Hour Magazine for 8 years, she developed a passion for art, politics, culture and sport. Before becoming GM of the Montreal Stars, Hewings actually covered the Montreal club as a writer.

With extensive experience in new media, marketing and sports management, her goal is to help elite female hockey players build a pro league that connects with fans, grows the grassroots game, and inspires Montréalers.
